With a $100 million refurbishment under way, the Gold Coast Airport is continuing to expand to cope with expected passenger-growth numbers. About 3.9 million passengers pass through the airport every year, arriving on 296 domestic and 18 international flights a week. Qantas runs 14 flights from Sydney each week, Jetstar 65 and Virgin Blue 83. Tiger Airways runs 21 flights from Melbourne each week, Jetstar 53 and Virgin Blue 47.
